Your logo doesn't work. Hi I'm Simon Jordan from Simon Jordan.com and this is another episode from my 60 seconds help.
Okay. Isn't that great opening statement was it your logo doesn't work. So let me explain. Bare with me. We see companies like Nike, Coca-Cola and McDonald's they've all got a very strong logo identity haven't they. So when we create our businesses and we create our logos we think we need to do something clever as well. Well essentially as a small business owner No you don't. Yes you can have it. But if someone's looking at your logo if it's not telling the target market or the viewer exactly what it is you do you are leaving money on the table. They are going to pass you by.
So what's more important than spending time and money and getting your designers to do a really nice flashy logo which might win an award for them but it's going to do nothing for you is to get your strapline because when someone picks up your leaflet your business card. It's not your logo is going to get you business. It's what you can do for them.
So work on the benefits of how you can help them.
